Packing for EuroPrideCon
It is incredible that an entire year has passed already since we came back from the very first EuroPrideCon in Munich, energized and packed with ideas. I'm not saying that the time has gone by quickly - it was so stuffed in every regard that it feels like a few weeks and a whole lifetime simultaneously.

We have published 'Lucia' and 'Djinni', and 'Softpaw' is right around the corner. Actually, I have packed away the very first copies of Softpaw just a few moments ago. We will be leaving for Berlin on Friday already, so we're all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when the actual con starts on Saturday. Well, probably not really, cause anything before 11am is way too early in my book.

But we are so very much looking forward to the EPC. Of course there's never a second first time, but maybe this will prove almost as inspiring and affirming than the one last year. Meeting new people just as slightly-off-the-rockers as we are, talking, arguing, chatting together, maybe making plans, comparing, learning.

Seeing you all in Berlin,

Congrats on your publications!

Thank you, dear! At times, it's been a bumpy ride, but now we're settling into a nicely sustainable pace. Still, all very exciting. ^^

You seem to be getting the hang of it^_^ Any idea when this title will be available on ARE?
osirisbrackhausosirisbrackhaus on June 5th, 2016 05:09 pm (UTC)
So far, we were not planning on selling via ARE... But I will take your question as a hint to check out their conditions again, cause for the life of me I can't remember why we decided against it. :)

However - we are constantly searching for early readers who would be interested in writing an honest review in exchange for a free review copy... If you are interested, mail me at Osiris@Brackhaus.com, and you can have the book even before it is available in the shops! (This offer is also valid for all our old LJ friends... we won't forget where we came from... ^^)

Take care,

Oh I see. I mentioned ARE because it's the easiest site to buy from, books are available in many formats, and it doesn't create problems for readers from outside North America^_~ like me.

So where do you offer your books? I'd like to support you if I can.

I've picked them up off amazon and I'm an Aussie
osirisbrackhausosirisbrackhaus on June 6th, 2016 09:20 am (UTC)
Amazon offers a localized site for Australia. If there is no Amazon daughter catering to your country in particular, I can see this being a real problem. Luckily, there's a lot of alternatives. :)
osirisbrackhausosirisbrackhaus on June 6th, 2016 09:18 am (UTC)
Apart from all the Amazons, our books are available at:
Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple and Createspace.
(Is there no local amazon in your country? There's so many of them...)
Once each book is live, most of the buy-links will go up on our website (brackhaus.com).

But I have started the setup process for a publisher account with ARE. They are a bit iffy about non-US citizens and taxes - but if we get this sorted out, I see no reason not to publish there as well. Thanks for the reminder, and thanks so much more for your interest in our books!

It is very kind of you that you want to buy one of our books. Right now, every single review we get is so much more than one sale that we easily forget that it's a compliment. So, thanks again. :)

I currently work in the Middle East so no Amazon here. And even when I order books from Amazon to have them delivered here, they have to stay a week in Customs to be checked by censorship. *rolls eyes* So m/m books have to be in ebook format, preferably PDF, to prevent any awkward conversations with the authorities. I am able to buy from ARE and Smashwords only.

Happy to support talented authors!

Okay, I can totally see how the Middle East is a problem in this regard. But happy to supply you with smut via Smashwords and ARE!

Your efforts are much appreciated! XD

Also, another way of getting our novels that I totally forgot: mail us directly, pay us via paypal and we send you the book in the format of your choice. ^^

One of the gorgeous advantages of the way we set up our publishing - there's no one but us deciding on the distribution. :)
Ariss Tenohariss_tenoh on June 6th, 2016 04:15 pm (UTC)
Another hiccup. Banks here don't like Paypal as a payment method because of the prevalent credit card fraud by people overseas^^ and they don't like having to start an investigation for 60 days and go through hoops with the big CC companies before being forced to refund the money to their customer. Yes, it happened to me once^^

I don't mean to bore you with details but just to give you an idea how things are in some parts of the world.
osirisbrackhausosirisbrackhaus on June 6th, 2016 05:44 pm (UTC)
No, you never bore me. It's acutally very interesting and helpful! For me, living in Germany, PayPal in particular is extremely useful because it makes international payments so easy. But of course, I can imagine the same ease could turn into insecurity in other parts of the planet.

'Loving Djinni' is up on ARE, at least as a first test. If all goes well, 'Softpaw' will be up on ARE on July 14th, just as everywhere else. If now, please let me know, I'll fix it.
